What's Kudosity Trusted Sender?

In brief: Trusted Sender is an optional managed compliance service for Kudosity customers sending branded SMS to Australian mobile numbers. It costs $99 per month per account and includes management for up to five active Sender IDs, one dedicated Australian Virtual Mobile Number (VMN), renewals, compliance administration and other included services.

What's Kudosity Trusted Sender?

Trusted Sender is Kudosity’s Australia-only managed service for organisations that want expert help registering and maintaining trusted communications channels, including branded SMS Sender IDs under the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) SMS Sender ID Register.

Kudosity manages the registration workflow, supporting documentation, renewal tracking and ongoing compliance administration. You receive full access to the VERA Compliance Portal so you can see registrations, evidence, renewal activity and actions in one place.

Do I have to purchase Trusted Sender?

No. Trusted Sender is optional. However, if you send SMS or MMS to Australian mobile numbers using a branded or alphanumeric Sender ID, that Sender ID must be registered for your brand name to continue appearing to recipients.

You can choose a self-service registration option instead. If you send from a phone number and do not use a branded Sender ID, the ACMA Sender ID registration requirement does not apply to that traffic.

How much does Trusted Sender Cost?

Trusted Sender costs $99 per month per Kudosity account.

The subscription is billed separately from messaging credit. It includes up to five concurrent active Australian Sender IDs and/or one Certified Telco registration, plus one dedicated Australian VMN, subject to fair usage. Additional Sender ID registrations are $10 each with no monthly hosting fee. Additional standard VMNs are $25 per month each.

Additional services, activity outside fair usage and any applicable carrier or verification fees may incur separate charges. Contact your Kudosity account manager or Support for account-specific pricing.

What are the alternatives?

Kudosity offers three paths for customers sending branded messages in Australia:

What changed on 3 August 2026?

During the transition to the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register, Kudosity provided free registration assistance. From 3 August 2026, standard pricing applies to new Sender ID registration requests.

Sender IDs registered before 3 August 2026 are unaffected by this pricing change. The change applies only to new registration requests submitted on or after that date.

How to get started with Trusted Sender

1. Request Trusted Sender: Visit the ACMA Compliance page and select Get Trusted Sender, or contact your account manager or Kudosity Support.
2. Set up access: Kudosity adds the service to your account, prepares your VERA Compliance Portal and provides access.
3. Provide your information: Supply the business and Sender ID documentation requested by the compliance team.
4. Kudosity manages registration: The team manages submission, business verification and registration progress, and lets you know if further action is required.
5. Complete the ACMA confirmation: After submission, look for an email from senderIDregister@digital.acma.gov.au. You may need to create an ACMA Assist account, verify your ABN, accept the terms and confirm the registration. Kudosity cannot complete these customer-authorised steps for you.
6. Stay current: Kudosity monitors renewals, verification updates and relevant Australian regulatory changes while you retain visibility in VERA.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Sender ID?

A Sender ID is the branded name shown at the top of an SMS or MMS, such as a business or organisation name. It must contain 2–11 characters and cannot consist only of numbers.

What happens if my Sender ID is not registered?

Messages sent to Australian mobile numbers using an unregistered branded Sender ID are labelled ‘Unverified’. They are also grouped with other unverified messages, which may reduce customer confidence and make legitimate communications easier to overlook.

I am already registered. Do I need Trusted Sender?

Not necessarily. Trusted Sender is optional. It may still be useful if you want Kudosity to manage renewals, lifecycle administration, compliance records, business verification support, WhatsApp onboarding and a dedicated VMN.

Does Trusted Sender include more than one Sender ID?

Yes. The $99 monthly subscription includes management for up to five concurrent active Australian Sender IDs. Additional Sender ID registrations are $10 each with no monthly hosting fee.

Does Trusted Sender include a dedicated number?

Yes. It includes one standard dedicated Australian Virtual Mobile Number (VMN), which supports reliable two-way messaging. Additional standard VMNs are $25 per month each.

When does billing start, and does it use my messaging credit?

Billing starts when the Trusted Sender subscription is activated. The $99 fee is invoiced monthly as a separate subscription and is not deducted from messaging credit.

What does fair usage mean?

The subscription includes a reasonable level of Australian registration, verification and onboarding activity, including up to five concurrent active Australian Sender IDs, one dedicated VMN and up to two WhatsApp Business Account use cases per year. Additional services or higher usage may incur extra charges.

Can I manage registration myself?

Yes. Kudosity offers self-service registration for customers that prefer to manage their own application, evidence, status, renewals and ongoing administration.

Does the 3 August 2026 pricing change affect my existing registrations?

No. Sender IDs registered before 3 August 2026 are unaffected. Standard pricing applies to new registration requests submitted from 3 August 2026.

Is Trusted Sender available outside Australia?
