The message cost is calculated by (message parts x message cost) x contacts

The price shown in your account is for 1 message part. Each message can contain up to 8 parts.

On our message send screen we show you the number of characters and parts as well as an estimated cost and breakdown.

There are several factors that can change messaging cost, including UTF8 encoding and international messaging. Here are 3 examples to show how different factors can affect message cost.

Example 1: Standard Message

The message is 2 SMS long and it will be sent to 24 recipients with a message cost of 8.7c ($AUD)

This means that your account will be charged for (2 x 24) x 8.7 = $4.176 (48 SMS)

Click on the Show Details link below the total to see the message cost breakdown.

Example 2: UTF8 Encoded Message

When a message contains emojis or other special characters the entire message becomes UTF8 encoded which reduces the maximum length per part to 70 characters.

In this example, you see the same message with an emoji is now 4 parts due to the reduced character length.

The message is now 4 SMS long and it will be sent to 24 recipients with a message cost of 8.7c ($AUD)

This means that your account will be charged for (4 x 24) x 8.7 = $8.352 (96 SMS)

Example 3: International Messages

When your list contains numbers from different country destinations the cost will change as the cost per destination differs per country.

In this example you can see how the different prices affect the final total for this list with the same message. If you are interested in specific country destination pricing, change the country drop down in your pricing panel.
