There isn't really an "Industry Guide" that exists.


Regarding response rate it is so dependent on what the function of the SMS is and the quality of offer etc.


What we can tell you is that there is a distinct difference between sending to a list for the first time and then consecutive times.


First Time Send


Due to old data generally on a new list, opt-out rate will be high. Around 20%. Delivery rate usually runs about 85%.


Consecutive Sends


On consecutive sends, as long as you delete hard bounced numbers you should be in the region of 95% delivery rate and around 3-4% opt out depending on list size.


Read Rate


Regarding read rate. Its generally industry agreed at about 95%.
